في مشهد رمزي مؤثر، أضاءت آلاف الأضواء سماء نيويورك لتعيد رسم صورة برجي مركز التجارة العالمي، تزامناً مع إحياء الذكرى الخامسة والعشرين لهجمات 11 أيلول 2001.
وجاء العرض باستخدام 2,977 ضوءاً، بعدد ضحايا الهجمات، في تحية تذكارية أعادت إلى سماء المدينة صورة البرجين اللذين شكّلا لعقود أحد أبرز معالم نيويورك.
وشكّل المشهد لوحة ضوئية ضخمة بدت فيها معالم البرجين واضحة في سماء المدينة، في مبادرة حملت رسالة وفاء إلى الضحايا واستعادة رمزية لأحد أكثر المشاهد ارتباطاً بذاكرة الأميركيين والعالم خلال ربع القرن الماضي.
وتحلّ في 11 أيلول 2026 الذكرى الـ25 للهجمات التي استهدفت الولايات المتحدة عام 2001، بعدما اصطدمت طائرتان مختطفتان ببرجي مركز التجارة العالمي في نيويورك، فيما استهدفت طائرة ثالثة مبنى البنتاغون وتحطمت رابعة في ولاية بنسلفانيا.
وبعد ربع قرن، لا تزال نيويورك تحيي ذكرى الضحايا سنوياً، فيما تحوّل موقع البرجين السابق إلى مساحة للذاكرة والتكريم، في قلب المدينة التي تغيّر تاريخها في ذلك اليوم.
In a moving symbolic display, thousands of lights illuminated the New York sky, recreating the image of the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers as the United States marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
The display featured 2,977 lights, representing the number of victims killed in the attacks, in a commemorative tribute that brought the image of the towers once among New York City’s most recognizable landmarks back to the skyline.
The installation formed a striking representation of the Twin Towers above the city, carrying a message of remembrance and honoring the victims while evoking one of the most enduring images in the collective memory of Americans and people around the world over the past quarter-century.
September 11, 2026 marks 25 years since the attacks on the United States in 2001, when two hijacked planes struck the World Trade Center towers in New York. A third plane hit the Pentagon, while a fourth crashed in Pennsylvania.
A quarter of a century later, New York continues to commemorate the victims each year, while the former World Trade Center site has become a place of remembrance and tribute in the heart of a city whose history was forever changed that day.
