احتضنت مدينة ريدوود سيتي في ولاية كاليفورنيا، السبت 29 آب 2026، فعاليات النسخة السادسة عشرة من San Francisco Bay Area Lebanese Festival، في محطة سنوية تجمع أبناء الجالية اللبنانية وأصدقاء لبنان للاحتفاء بالثقافة والتراث والمطبخ اللبناني.
وأقيم المهرجان في Courthouse Square وسط ريدوود سيتي، من الساعة الثانية عشرة ظهرًا حتى العاشرة مساءً، وتخللته أجواء احتفالية ومأكولات ومشروبات لبنانية وبرامج ترفيهية، في مناسبة تعكس حضور الجالية اللبنانية في منطقة خليج سان فرانسيسكو وحرصها على إبقاء تراثها حاضرًا في المجتمع الأميركي.
وشهد المهرجان مشاركة القنصل العام اللبناني في لوس أنجلوس شربل نصار، إلى جانب أبناء الجالية اللبنانية وأصدقاء لبنان، وسط أجواء عكست حيوية الحضور اللبناني في كاليفورنيا والحرص على الحفاظ على الروابط الثقافية والاجتماعية بين أبناء الانتشار.
وشكّل المطبخ اللبناني أحد أبرز محاور المهرجان، مع تقديم مجموعة واسعة من الأطباق التقليدية، من بينها التبولة والشاورما والحمص والفلافل والكبة وورق العنب والمشاوي، إلى جانب الحلويات والمشروبات اللبنانية.
ويشارك أبناء رعية Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church في Millbrae في إعداد الطعام، بالتعاون مع مؤسسات محلية مرتبطة بأبناء الرعية، في مساهمة تتجاوز الجانب الترفيهي للمهرجان إلى الحفاظ على جزء من الهوية والثقافة اللبنانية ونقله إلى الأجيال الجديدة، وتعريف المجتمع الأميركي به.
كما يعتمد المهرجان بصورة أساسية على العمل التطوعي ومشاركة أبناء الجالية في تنظيم فعالياته، وقد فتح المنظمون باب التطوع أمام الراغبين في المساهمة في دورة العام 2026.
ومع بلوغه عامه السادس عشر، يواصل San Francisco Bay Area Lebanese Festival ترسيخ حضوره كإحدى المناسبات التي تجمع اللبنانيين في شمال كاليفورنيا، وتوفر مساحة للاحتفاء بالموسيقى والمطبخ والثقافة اللبنانية، وتعزيز الروابط بين أبناء الانتشار ووطنهم الأم.
The city of Redwood City, California, hosted the 16th annual San Francisco Bay Area Lebanese Festival on Saturday, August 29, 2026, bringing together members of the Lebanese community and friends of Lebanon for a celebration of Lebanese culture, heritage, and cuisine.
Held at Courthouse Square in downtown Redwood City from noon until 10 p.m., the festival featured a festive atmosphere, Lebanese food and beverages, and entertainment, reflecting the vibrant presence of the Lebanese community in the San Francisco Bay Area and its commitment to keeping its heritage alive within American society.
Lebanon’s Consul General in Los Angeles, Charbel Nassar, also attended the festival alongside members of the Lebanese community and friends of Lebanon, as the gathering highlighted the vitality of the Lebanese presence in California and the community’s commitment to preserving its cultural and social ties.
Lebanese cuisine was one of the festival’s main attractions, with a wide selection of traditional dishes, including tabbouleh, shawarma, hummus, falafel, kibbeh, stuffed grape leaves, and grilled specialties, along with Lebanese desserts and beverages.
Members of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church in Millbrae also contribute to preparing the food, in cooperation with local businesses connected to the parish community. Their participation goes beyond the festival itself, helping preserve an important part of Lebanese identity and culture, pass it on to younger generations, and introduce it to the broader American community.
The festival also relies heavily on volunteer work and community participation, with organizers inviting volunteers to contribute to the success of the 2026 edition.
Now in its 16th year, the San Francisco Bay Area Lebanese Festival continues to establish itself as an important gathering for Lebanese Americans in Northern California, providing a space to celebrate Lebanese music, cuisine, and culture while strengthening ties among members of the diaspora and their connection to Lebanon.
