As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between Lebanon and the State of California, a meeting was held in Sacramento between Lebanon’s Consul General in Los Angeles, Charbel Nassar, and Evan G. Reade, International Affairs Advisor at the Office of California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis.
During the meeting, Reade, who previously served as U.S. Consul General in Strasbourg and maintains longstanding family and personal ties to Lebanon, shared reflections on his visits to the country and expressed his appreciation for Lebanon’s rich history and cultural heritage.
The discussion also touched on Lebanon’s historical journey, lessons drawn from its past, hopes for lasting peace, and prospects for the future.
As a symbolic gesture, the Consul General presented Reade with an artwork depicting the Lebanese Parliament and Beirut’s iconic Star Square (Nejmeh Square), highlighting Lebanon’s parliamentary tradition and the diversity of political voices that shape its democratic life.
The Consulate General of Lebanon in Los Angeles reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening dialogue and fostering deeper ties with California’s institutions and communities.
