The Canadian city of Laval turned into a space of solidarity with Lebanon during an artistic and humanitarian evening that brought together members of the Lebanese community, alongside Canadian and diaspora figures, in support of the Lebanese Red Cross. The event carried a strong message reflecting the Lebanese diaspora’s continued attachment to their homeland and support for families affected by ongoing crises.
The event was held at Embassy Plaza Hall in the presence of political and diaspora figures, as well as representatives of humanitarian organizations. Proceeds from the evening were dedicated to supporting the Lebanese Red Cross amid the difficult humanitarian conditions facing Lebanon.
During the event, Peace Ambassador and young singer Krista Maria Abou Akl stated that “every donation to Lebanon is a small light in the midst of great darkness, and peace begins with us,” stressing the importance of humanitarian solidarity and standing by the Lebanese people during this critical period.
For his part, Ghassan Brax emphasized in his speech that “peace is not merely a title, but a humanitarian responsibility based on compassion, commitment, and collective action,” underscoring the need to continue supporting affected Lebanese families.
Meanwhile, Wadih Gharib, head of the Lebanese Red Cross Support Committee in Canada, highlighted the importance of sustaining humanitarian initiatives for Lebanon at a time of growing social and humanitarian challenges.
The evening also featured artistic and musical performances carrying messages of solidarity and love for Lebanon, reflecting the Lebanese community’s strong commitment in Canada to supporting their homeland and standing by its people during difficult times.
